I haven’t checked in here for a while, and I’m sorry for that.
Big news though, I joined the United States Air Force! I’m in the DEP until July 23rd, after which it could be anywhere between 1 and 12 months until I get a contract and a ship date.
At MEPS I fucked up on the depth-perception test so I got DQ’d for Aircraft Loadmaster, but I put down a bunch of avionics tech, intelligence and a few other general positions down. Total count was like 18, so I’m confident I’ll get something before too long and get shipped out as quickly as possible.
But yeah, this is really happening, my life in the military is really starting and I’m only realizing now how woefully ill-prepared I am for that. I’m starting up on a four-month fitness course to try and kick my ass into shape for BMT, I’m getting my driver’s license and I’m trying to buckle my life down in preparation for it all.
Here’s hoping everything goes according to plan.

In five days I’m leaving to go back to Florida for a few days. I should be back up in NY on the 24th. Still not entirely sure what the day-to-day specifics are going to be though.
I’m really hoping to be able to hang out with some of my friends down there.
